Pool Associations & Publications

It is a excellent idea to join a pool service association in your area after you have purchased your route. These associations provide many benefits to a pool route business owner and they are also a great place to network with other pool service professionals. There are many pool service associations in the United States, but the three major associations are IPSSA (www.ipssa.com), UPA (www.unitedpoolassociation.org) and APSP (www.apsp.org).
The monthly dues for IPSSA and UPA are about $85 per month and include a one million dollar liability insurance policy and sick route coverage if you become injured. They also offer many education opportunities throughout the year at the monthly meeting. IPSSA has local chapters in all the Sunbelt states from California to Florida. UPA is only available to pool professionals in California. APSP is the world’s largest international trade association representing the pool, spa and hot tub industry.
